The hot club track ‘Green Light’ by John Legend and Andre 3000 of Outkast has gotten the MSTRKRFT remix touch. It takes a while to get into, but, as always MSTRKRFT produces yet anotherbanger.

Kids - MGMT ( All Good Things come without vowels)

A-TRAK - Shock and Awe
Ok so today’s another addition to my TIME festival love-in…. THis time a bunch of clips from the show…. The A-Trak clips are incredible… You can see everything he’s doing and is pretty much the last-word tutorial on how to DJ a party perfectly…. The Erol ALkan clip is insane, he’s spinning an unreleased Soulwax nite version remix of MGMT’s song Kids if I’m not mistaken….That song is going to be Soooo fucking epic when it drops…. and then there’s soulwax just blowing everyone’s mind though the video footage does no justice….enjoy!

MSTRKRFT + CROOKERS
Ok so the title of the post is a little misleading….. I was just thinking how I could have made TIME music festival any better… and though Boyz Noize, AM and Justice might have added a tiny bit of pizzaz… these are the two who I would have loved to see…. Not that I thought Crookers‘ last performance in Toronto was good… I thought it was pretty soft actually… But I want to give them another chance…. By the way, good article in NOW about that Crookers night… While our crew of about 50 monsters was complaining about the tameness of the event we’d all been grinding our teeth over for months little Lord Fontleroy here had this to say:
Crookers steal the show
Italian production duo Crookers have been absolutely killing it on dance floors all over the world this year, mainly because of their aggressively funky electro remixes, which often get more play than the original tracks.Even if the term “nu-rave” was originally coined as a joke, it certainly fits the over-the-top acid vibe they pound out, and walking through the wall of steam and sweaty bodies greeting us at Wrongbar definitely felt like something out of the glory days of the “old-rave.”
There was nothing subtle about the vibe they pounded out, and that was exactly the kind of bludgeoning the crowd was up for. This was easily one of the most intense parties in recent memory, which proved that the buzz-saw bass line sound that’s ruled the club scene the last few years is far from dead. That heavy-metal disco attitude still manages to thrill, at least when it’s done as well as this.
Goes to show what the frick frack Toronto Annex Hipsters know! And since we made up 90% of the jam (somehow Toronto didn’t get the facebook invite) it also goes to show that we neeeeeed to grow up and get some fucking jobs

TIMEEEE!!!!!!!!!!
So Today’s Tuesday and the world is just gradually beginning to shift back into focus….. Sunday morning I woke up on my buddy Joffe’s shitty fold out bed with a horrible hangover, the product of the 3 house party mission the night before and all the various alchohols mooched and mixed along the way… We crawled out of bed and Joffe drove me over to a subway for the dehumanizing trek home… But not before stopping along the way to visit one of our debauched friends who had taken the night off before to get good and ready for the TIME Music festival that day… Then they poured us both glasses of wine and I think the day pretty much spiralled out of control at that point… I pretended I was going to switch into their car because they were going to be driving closer to my house… But the real kicker I think came when we were pulling out of the drive way only to have have joffe stop his car and dive into ours… So basically we said fuck it and one 60oz of whiskey and a microwaveable burrito and we were drunk as fuck by noon and ready to party…
… And what a party it was
BEST DAY EVER! VNDLSM was murdering it by 1:30… And by the time A-Trak came on, the rain was pouring down and Toronto’s hipster’s had their Woodstock… The man absoultely blew me away…. Same with Erol Alkan…People were going so crazy that when the music stopped and some funny red haired dude in a white tux from some band called Soulwax or something came out and started fidgeting with equipment setting things up…. the crowd started booing and hecklin…. So he’s up there for probably what was about two minutes but to what the crowd seemed like a fucking catastrophic technical difficulty meltdown and the whole place is just heckling the shit out of him…. And he starts yelling at everyone that there all a bunch of assholes….then I don’t remember what happened next but when shit came back into focus Soulwax was onstage in all their shining glory destroying the place…. Kudos to Soulwax for handling a bunch of stupid Canadian kids chewing their faces off with grace patience and for putting on an epic performance…..And congratulations to the guys from Embrace for an amazing line-up, an incredible venue (Basically a castle on the water) and the best show of the year
